Large scale construction schedules are irreplaceable when it comes to identifying critical paths, interface issues and forecasting end dates. However, this information is not easily digested by those not directly involved in the planning & scheduling process. Our animations display this scheduling data in a more easily digested format making it accessible to all project team members and stakeholders.
Complex scheduling data is converted into a time-scaled animation that clearly shows the interactions between the various parties involved in the work. Additional data is provided in the form of annotations and calendars which are timed to synchronise with the phases of construction.
All animations are provided with stop-start buttons for pausing and restarting and where a construction program consists of several phases, additional buttons are provided to enable to the user to “hop” around the timeframe to visit specific events.
Animations can be used as training material, an aid to understanding, to identify clashes missed during the scheduling process and to provide a true sense of the complexity of large scale construction operations.
Under normal circumstances Petrografix suggest that an animation is produced only after the baseline schedule has been established. Afterwards, updates may be made each time a re-baselining takes place.
Smaller scale animations can be put together as part of a feasibility study as a tool for understanding potential problems and areas of conflict.
