Infographics is a generic term describing visual representations of complex data in a format that can be readily understood.
There are infinite variations in the world of info-graphics but they all share a common goal, which is to enable the reader to rapidly grasp concepts that may prove difficult to convey through more traditional forms of presentation such as reports, schedules and procedures. Most commonly, graphs are used as simple infographics to represent trends and variations over time or cost. However, when the information to be disseminated is of a more unique nature bespoke infographics need to be produced.
The animations presented within this website represent entire construction schedules or extracts of complex sections of those schedules. They do not attempt to show progress or changes to the original concept. This function is best served by infographics.
Petrografix have a long history in producing images that convey vast amounts of data in a single page, presented in a colourful and interesting format to draw in the reviewer. With our in-depth knowledge of large-scale, project planning, we have found ways of representing scheduling data in ways that replace, or supplement, the tradition project schedule reports. Schedules usually cover multiple pages, displaying numerous coloured bars indicating progress, work remaining and critical activities. This format has a valued place within a project however, they are less than easy to understand by stake-holders who are not familiar with scheduling techniques and who, in the main, simply wish to know what has been completed and what remains to be done.
The samples below cover a wide variety of concepts, several of which are extracts of scheduling progress data. Other infographics show one-off events or display permanent information of a novel way.
